The Serial Communication Module provides an interface for ESPA 4.4.4 communication. ESPA 4.4.4 is a protocol designed for paging and is often used as a standard interface between different systems to send messages and alerts. The SCM module is for example used by security alarms and fire alarm systems to transmit alarms and messages to the COBS system. The SCM module is a 2-way communication module, which makes it possible to both send and receive alerts to- and from connected systems. SCM-P can be used to send and receive alerts including location information.
The SCM is connected through a RS485-bus to the COBS CMS messaging server for instant forwarding of alarms to other devices within the system.
The unit can continuously be monitored via COBS CMS.
